In the South, before 1975, a fumigation team belonged to the Plant Hygiene Center under the Saigon Agricultural Directorate. After the liberation of the South, plant quarantine and fumigation activities were promptly taken over and continuously maintained. In 1976, Fumigation Team II of Ho Chi Minh City was established - marking the first foundation of VFC Fumigation in the South. By 1983, the team expanded into Fumigation Company II. In December 1993, under State directives, fumigation units under the Plant Protection Department were consolidated into the Vietnam Fumigation Company (VFC).
